Tomoko re-joined Openstudio in 2020 as a key Interior Architect, in order to develop our work in Interior Design.

Tomoko Kakita is a senior Interior Architect at Openstudio Architects.

Tomoko completed her Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons) in Interior and Spatial Design from the University of the Arts, London, and a Professional Diploma in Architecture from London Metropolitan University.
Tomoko has excellent design skills, with an emphasis on the quality of materials, colour and texture. Her architectural design background allows her to connect interior and exterior spaces so that they are designed as seamless compositions. Her commitment to carefully detailed and crafted buildings and interiors allow the projects to achieve high standards.

Before joining Openstudio Tomoko worked on high profile projects in the offices of several design practices in the UK. These include: Conran + Partners, John McAslan + Partners and ESA architects in London, UK. She has worked on a wide range and scale of projects: mixed-use developments, residential developments, private houses, commercial interiors, gallery facilities in the United Kingdom, a penthouse and residential projects in Japan, a commercial interior in the United States, a penthouse project in India, a residential development in Malaysia, a museum project in Qatar, residential projects in Cyprus, a hotel interior in France and a spa resort development in Croatia.

Projects for Openstudio include: Westminster Fire Station, House of Stone and Mirrors, The Loft House, Hampstead House, Green House and Acer House.
