Jaslyn holds a Master in Architecture (with distinction) from the Kingston School of Art. Her M.Arch thesis investigated a sense of place in buildings, through the use of light, space, material and context. She values responsible building design, working with the existing urban context to conserve contextual history, and advocates for the highest quality in architectural work.
Following the completion of her studies, and prior to joining Openstudio, she worked on high residential projects in Italy, Ireland and London, as well as being involved in both graphic and interior design work for private clients. The different fields of experience reinforced her thorough research skills and ability to work across a variety of scales simultaneously.
She is interested in sustainable and innovative solutions in design as well as the creation of spaces where a sense of relationship between design and user is found. Her skills in Building Information Modelling contribute to the ease and efficiency with which Openstudio approaches projects. She is currently involved in new build, renovation and commercial projects in the studio.
