The proposal celebrates and raises an awareness of water through its collection, storage, use and visual presence. It offers an alternative to the hard environments of contemporary housing through the utilisation of water to create an undulating landscape which is transformed through vegetation and rises and falls into a public environment of inscription and memory.

Our strategy uses contemporary landscape techniques to allow water to become visible once again – to create a place in which the boundaries between building and landscape are indistinct. We hope to regain the celebration of a rainfall, the joy of a fountain, channels of stormwater feeding grasslands and meadows and an awareness of the presence of water in homes and landscapes.
