This project in Notting Hill connects two flats and was completely re-planned internally, with a new steel and timber balcony connecting the interior and exterior.
The addition of an internal stair gave us the opportunity to create a spatial richness unusual in houses of this type and period. The materials used in the project are carefully chosen: linear Panga Panga parquet is used throughout, while the walls are pure white, and the stone is grey and cream limestone. The garden is paved in dark grey basalt strips, in a pattern that echoes that of the interior flooring.
The project is environmentally sensitive: a water recycling system was installed in the basement, with water being reused in the garden, and a heat recovery unit circulates air throughout the house. Joinery is made with eco-friendly MDF and timber and the paints are organic.
