Atlantic College
Our project grows out of a consciousness of and sensitivity to the environment; and the beauty that can grow out of difference. It connects the themes of sustainability, environmental awareness, and the growth and development of young international students with the landscapes of ‘home’. Each building is associated with a different region of the world: not through reference to religion or national boundaries, but through the planting, germination and spreading of plants from each of the different world floral kingdoms.
The wildflowers are self-sustaining and spread into the wider landscape from the roofs. They are watered by the use of greywater, which is filtered and spread through the soil on the roofs and enables the flowers to thrive.
